Counselling - Appointments
Counselling sessions last 50 minutes and would be held tipically once a week at the same time and place. If you arrive late for a session, it would still finish at the usual time, so please bear that in mind.
The length of counselling you require can vary greatly, depending on the issues you would like to resolve and your circumstances. Typically, clients can benefit from shorter counselling (6-12 sessions over a 6-12 week period) when there is a clear focus to our work or dealing with some new situations in your life. Long term or complex issues can benefit from working in an open-ended way, to allow you taking the time you need.
Ending well is an important part of counselling, so it is advisable to arrange suitable number of closing sessions if you wish to finish counselling. These last sessions will give you a chance to review your journey through therapy: what has changed and what have you learnt that was helpful. You can also discuss areas where you still want to improve and ways to go about it once you finished counselling.
