Alyson is a registered nurse and moved to Brighton in 1988 to work on the Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, which is where she met Tom.

They have four children; Jacob, Isaac, Charlie and Stan.

She acquired the Indian head massage diploma two years ago, realizing that complementary medicine has an important role in achieving and maintaining good health and well-being.

Alyson is also in charge of administration at the Pathway Clinic.
